Our train ride from st. Louis prooved to be quite as enjoyable as it was long. We spent almost three days and two nights on the "empire builder" train, passing through the wisconsin dells, massive sunflower farms in north dakota, glacier national park, and the cascades. Since we finagled sleeping car tickets we had a great time eating well, drinking champagne, and having wine and cheese tastings on the train. Definitely the best way to travel. Even our little private room with fold-down bunkbeds seemed large by the end of the trip. Here's some pics...
