Some views from todays ride
the first picture is of the grass/wet land just about 20 miles north of center bay where the wind hit up hardest. Second is a calmer mudflat. The last is the pacific ocean.
it must be really windy out there! watch out crossing the bridge to astoria, sometimes the side wind is tough as you blown into traffic, but you guys will do fine. some places to stay down the coast we liked: -cape lookout state park (great view) -tillamook (best cheese factory ever) -oswald west state park (you can hike in with your bikes and sleep on the beach for free if you're out of sight)
and getting to portland, the best way is taking highway 6 out of tillamook, then when you go over the pass, take a right on 8 (gales creek road) you can then follow that to forest grove, then to beaverton, then down into portland, there are way fewer cars then following 6 to sunset highway. good luck, wish i was out biking again, - john
